Writer Gary Doberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal in the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again
Synopsis
The author returns to his native city of Jerusalem-Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, but discovers that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. He wants to get away from the sexier, more romanticized undead that has flooded pop culture for most of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local Couple Victims of DUI.” The newspaper was supposedly printed in 1956, when the term “DUI” was not yet in use. It was a good movie

Was it perfect?
It feels like the actors did a good job with what they were given. All the main characters well conveyed the motivation of their characters, considering the shortness of the film. The heroes of the story are good. I liked the teacher, as well as the two main characters and a small child who showed no fear.

No. But. The effects were well done. Although they should have waited for the grand revelation until the end of history.
It was necessary to make a mini-series
