John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to "forget" his Montana accent and revert to the SoCal speaking voice he usually uses. I live in Derby, MT, where most of it is filmed – just yesterday they were filming in a field across the street from me with horses and cattle.
I think the show is a pretty solid story, and it fits into that niche that Costner does his best to do
One thing I noticed in the first season, given my half-Indian side, is that it makes you wonder who the good guys and the bad guys are – maybe both sides are good and bad. I admit it’s nice to see them filming while I’m here, as the ranch is only a short drive away and I pass by almost every day on my way to fish the Bitterroot River.
