Synopsis
Married petty crooks Lou-Jean (Goldie Hawn) and Clovis Poplin (William Atherton) lose their baby in the state of Texas and decide to do whatever it takes to get it back. Lou-Jean breaks Clovis out of jail, and the two steal their son from the foster home, in addition to taking a highway patrolman hostage. As a huge network begins to follow them across Texas, the couple become unlikely folk heroes and even begin to bond with the captive cop.
