As someone who didn’t know the history, the details of what happened really interested me
Synopsis
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports team is drawn into covering a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. The performances are all believable, the comedy is in all the right places, and the pacing and running time don’t have the viewer looking for the exit before the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not tagging plot threads
Some might find the lack of a change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room is your world and feel like they did on this eventful day.
Forcing yourself to think, without moralizing
They touched the political and emotional elements beautifully. Mixing footage from the actual event, including live action footage, definitely draws the viewer further into the experience.
While it’s not a movie I plan on watching over and over again, it’s a very well made movie that I would recommend to friends who like this type of movie
Nice touch.
